Cultural Heritage
Visualizing the evolution of cities/places, as they were and as they have been imagined…
About the Cluster
By combining vector and raster data at the intersection of time and space, projects in this cluster offer new ways to work for historians, architects and urbanists, literary scholars, and archaeologists. Users can also run searches by polygons, change the transparency of georeferenced maps and plans, and consult “film strips” that show all available views, maps, plans, and aerials for a particular moment in time. Scaled down into a mobile version, scholars, tourists, and residents alike can walk about cites, sites, and events while visualizing them as they once were, as well as they were once projected.
